Odocoileus virginianus DEER,
DOE |
Deer are a tan or reddish-brown in the
summer and greyish-brown in the winter. Their belly, throat, nose
band, eye ring and insides of the ears are white. In the spring, after
a gestation period of seven months, one to two fawns are born in a
den and are kept hidden for the first two weeks. Fawns lose their
white spots during the fall mating season. |
