| The twisted air plant, or
banded air plant, is a mass of gray tentacle-looking leaves, and its
appearance is much like that of an octopus. These air plants prefer
a drier atmosphere, and are found in many forest flatlands. As with
most Floridian air plants, they are endangered by rapidly shrinking
habitat and predation by the exotic Florida bromeliad weevil. |
