Alaska Islands and Ocean Visitor Center
On July 3, 2004, the Kachemak Bay Research Reserve dedicated the Alaska Island and Ocean Visitor Center, located at 95 Sterling Highway, in Homer, Ala. This state-of-the-art interpretive, educational and research facility is shared with the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge. The 36,825 square foot facility provides the reserve with space for administration and support offices, research laborites, and public interpretation and education displays and forums. The facility enables the reserve to improve the understanding and conservation of the marine environment.
